Madeline Santinelli, 91, of Plainview, New York, passed away at St. Francis Hospital on September 11, 2017. She was born on April 27, 1926 in Brooklyn, New York to Domenico and Anna (nee Schiro) Prozzo.

Madeline married the love of her life, Joseph Santinelli in 1952 and together they raised five children, traveled the world, and enjoyed boating until recently. She was a talented seamstress and cook, and volunteered for many organizations, including the Long Island League to Abolish Cancer (L.I.L.A.C.), March of Dimes, and Reach to Recovery. Madeline Santinelli, 91, of Plainview, New York, passed away at St. Francis Hospital on September 11, 2017. She was born on April 27, 1926 in Brooklyn, New York to Domenico and Anna (nee Schiro) Prozzo.

Madeline married the love of her life, Joseph Santinelli in 1952 and together they raised five children, traveled the world, and enjoyed boating until recently. She was a talented seamstress and cook, and volunteered for many organizations, including the Long Island League to Abolish Cancer (L.I.L.A.C.), March of Dimes, and Reach to Recovery. Madeline was an extremely proud and loving mother and "nana". Family was everything to her.

In addition to her husband of 65 years, Madeline is survived by her children Stephen Santinelli and his wife Kazuko, Susan Orick and her husband Ed, Tina Lam and her husband Jeff, Gerard Santinelli, and Barbara Wagner and her husband Greg. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren Alex, Remy and Justin Santinelli, Cody and Maddy Orick, Jordan and Molly Lam, and Natasha and Colette Wagner. Madeline also leaves behind step-grandsons David and Michael Hyland and their families, loving nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and sisters-in-law Rose Marie Messina and Arlene L'Eplattenier. She was preceded in death by her beloved sister Josephine Clemente.

Family and friends will gather at the Vernon C. Wagner Funeral Home, 655 Old Country Road, Plainview on Wednesday, September 13, for visitation from 4pm to 8pm. Funeral Service at Saint Pius X RC Church in Plainview at 10am on Thursday, September 14. Interment will follow at Holy Rood Cemetery.
